Massage Helps A Horse With Colic !!!

It was 5 a.m. when I decided to go feed my horses.  K O came out of his stall and immediately layed down!  I grabbed a halter, called my husband, and got K O on his feet.  While my husband walked him, I called my vet.  When he called I explained my horses' symptoms and that I still had a injection in my cabinett from a previous incident.  He assured me the injection was still good  so we administered the injection in the Splenius muscle ( the triangle) on the neck.  I began to massage the muscle in order to help the medicine get into his system quickly.  Then I remembered there are a group of muscles to massage for colic.  After we felt K O could stand still I began the massage and within two hours in combination with the injection and massage he was out of pain and we had manure !!!  Massage DOES NOT replace proper veterinary care, but I truely believe in combination with the shot, and early detection, massage helped bring quicker relief to my horse! 

Who We Are

     Cheri Lightfoot has been a resident of Blanco Texas since 1985.  She moved here with her husband, and two years later his three girls joined them.All three girls graduated from Blanco High School.

     Cheri has worked in various jobs, the most recent being The Deutsch Apple Pie Shop and Bakery from 2001 - 2011.  It was during her employment at the bakery she found out about Equissage and the decission was made to pursue a life-long dream of working with horses!  She became certified in Equissage in May, 2011 and is looking forward to helping horses achieve ultimate performance ability through massage.
